Relative Wealth: Zachary is currently doing quite well, by his standards. These days he is advanced far enough in the order and has been around long enough to not really have any problem with access to money.

Equipment/treasure: Some gold and gems, Enchanted Elven Chain, Chalter Medrium officer’s tabard

Allies:
Tarrik Aldarian, Mordekai of Veldron (deceased), Owen of Veldron (deceased), Risha the Beastman, Angus Belch, Blackthorn, Manasseh Feangren of the Black Rose, Jayfoot Bloomrose, Adhe (Vern), Left Hand of Vorak Briana (Coffee), Pernum Darkstorme, Thomas, Cass, (both Mike P), Lionel MacNelly, aide to Sir Finnian of Chalter Medrium (one-time regent and now advisor to the Queen and fellow Agent of the Crown (unplayed NPC), Garn (played Dave M), Olivia Goslar (Ingrid), Darien of the Sequestrum (most likely on the foe list as well), Kyril Feanor, Svar the Witchmueller

Foes:
  • I walked with Darien of the Sequestrum for over a year. I suspect at any time he might decide I am too dangerous to leave hanging around. Or, for that matter, one of his numerous good-guy or bad-guy enemies might realize I probably know stuff they might like to know about him.
  • Long ago there was a warrant for my arrest in the Three Peaks. I have never really figured out if that was cared for or not. (Ernie might know)
  • (this is less important now that a Queen has been crowned in Chalter Medrium) Once I was one of the men who had the trust of Frederick II, the ruler of Chalter Medrium. Whoever was his enemy is my enemy, for I have sworn to restore his son, the rightful king, to the throne. It has been many years since I thought of this issue, though it too is something I would take up if I stumble upon some shred of evidence.
  • In my early years in Chalter Medrium, I was responsible for breaking up a thief’s guild that had formed in Chalter Medrium. The Thieves Isle Lord who was funding the guild apparently is looking for me; there were a group of brigands in Irroquin with my name, in 497. (DM2 and APG did this one)

Goals/Desires:
  • To travel the lands, continuing to find adventure and to serve my Goddess well.
  • Though I am now much more realistic about such things, I keep one ear and eye open for mention of my parents’ fate.

Weaknesses:
  • After so many years of being in really scary and dangerous places, I am kinda jaded, and it is hard to get me excited.
  • I know a little bit about everything.
  • I am exceptionally curious, still, and now coupled with fearlessness, I walk into places that might not be the smartest choice. Darien’s pastry shop, for instance.

Character History

Special Notes:
#1 - the prop that casts this spell is lost, and therefore in-game I am no longer able. Saving this for posterity and for the write-up.
TRANSLATE: (written by Dale B, Sep 497)
Exception: 3x / Day
Duration: 5 Minutes
Range: Touch (written) / range of hearing (spoken)
Target must be touching ITEM to cast TRANSLATE. Spell allows target to understand ONE, NON-magikal language (i.e. Orkish, Elvish, DeMekrian, Sign Language, etc). Additional languages must be cast separately. While under the Spell the Target's mind can understand both spoken and written versions of the chosen language. TRANSLATE does not provide the character the ability to speak or write that language, only understand it. Magikal languages (spell books, etc.) cannot be understood through this spell. TRANSLATE also allows the target to decipher simple encoded writing (per GM approval). However, if the code is derived from a foreign language (i.e. a coded message in Elvish) the spell must be cast twice for full comprehension.

#2
Chain Mail:
Exception: 1x/day
Duration: Instant
Range: Wearer
Once per day the wearer, when reduced to zero Hit Points, will immediately be restored to one Hit Point. The armor functions against only physical wounds, caused by weapon, claw, or spell. Has no effect against poisons.

#3
TORMA’S TOUCH - Proposed Arcane Spell
Purchase Cost: 10pp (1.0 XP)
Casting Cost: 2cp
Exception: 3x/day
Duration: Special
Range: Touch
Component: Caster’s choice
Marker: None
Counter Spell: None

When cast upon a Target, this spell allows the Witness to access that Target’s perceptions from the previous ten minutes. In this moment, the Witness can see, feel, taste, touch, smell, and sense all that the Target perceived. Obviously, perception is not the same for each person, and it is the Target’s own perceptions that are relayed.

In game terms this spell requires an OOG moment where the spell is explained to the Target, and then that player must relay, as best they can recall, their perceptions of the last ten minutes time, as much as the player can remember and relay. Because only the OOG component relies on cooperation, (in-game the information is ‘passed’ almost instantaneously) the Target should not lie while answering the spell.
Every attempt will be made to produce a meaningful ceremony, to give grandeur to this powerful spell. If possible, there will be in-game duration for the passing of the information, as the caster ‘lives through’ the perceptions of the Target. The caster will make every effort to make this spell as cool as possible.

This spell CAN be stacked with SPEAK WITH DEAD or SPEAK WITH MONSTERS.

Because this is high-level Divine magik, it cannot be countered or resisted short of another not-as-yet-created arcane magik, or per the GM of the game in question.

#4
Zachary, at the wedding of Olivia, felt empowered by Torma to lay his sword upon the gift table for the newlyweds. Throughout the day, Zachary felt Her power coursing through him. The events of the wedding soured, with the bridegroom performing fell magik. For the next few hours, Zachary was cut off from Torma and Her magik. By the following morning he realized what had happened: She had chosen him to achieve the next level in her service, and had taken from his mind the martial skills with a blade, and in return opened new avenues to Her magik.

OOG, what happened: With approval from Ingrid (the GM), during the game I spent four experience points to switch from a Fighter/Mage to a straight Mage. With the conversion some of my spell list was removed, as was my ability to fight with a sword, and my chain mail dropped from 2AP to 1AP. I added forty purchase points, and some new spells.
